Banff & Lake Louise, Alberta

 Hi Everyone

We have almost been here at the Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground at Village II for 7 days.  It is the only campground for large RVs and with full hook up.

Besides being very large campground, we have been suffering with weak cellular connection and only one (1) TV channel.  A CTV station coming from Calgary.  Great for local news and some US happenings.  As a result, we have been walking, biking, hiking and taking the transportation into town.  We had a great Chinese dinner at a local restaurant the other night.  It was great!

Yesterday we took transportation into town and picked up another bus for a 45 - 50 minute ride north of here to Lake Louise.   This one has a small fee of $5.00 per person.  Reservations were made online and "QR" codes provided for use when boarding bus.  The ride in its entirety is within the Banff Provincial Park system.  One has the option of stopping at either Lake Louise or by Lake Louise Village.  On recommendation from the driver we changed our selection and visited the Lake itself.  You can be the judge if we made the right decision.

There is a hotel at this location.  The "Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise".  Starting only at $1300 per night (Canadian). The place is huge with an outstanding view of the Glacial created Lake Louise.  Actually, 6 glaciers feed this lake.  The largest and seen in the center is Victoria Glacier.

Zoom as needed to read explanation for the color of the lake

They have a 5 star restaurant here with numerous tables on the patio (heated) as well as indoor seating.  Since we were not guests of the hotel, they did not have enough outside seating.  However, even from inside,  the views are captivating and unreal.  Once seated, we were visited by waitresses, restaurant manager, food & beverage manager or director, and the list continues.  Point being that everyone wanted to know if we were happy and satisfied with anything and everything.  Unbelievable service.  The grilled chicken breast with salad and dessert were not bad either.

The actual hotel can be seen above behind the sign.  Both of us thought the other had taken a picture of the hotel when actually neither of us did.  This is the only shot showing the hotel.

After a few hours of walking the paths and sitting along the main path overlooking this lake, we walked back to the parking lot and prepared for trip back to Banff.  Another great day!!!
