Alaska

 Hi again everyone.

Well, we have been in Alaska for a few days now.  We will try to catch you all to current events.

Upon entering into the US border, and still on their parking lot, we were stopped by construction crew and waited 20 minutes for pilot car.  Won't bore you guys with more construction pics.

A small town en route to Fairbanks we found the following:

And the following illustrates what vehicles look like after driving on these roads:

Here is one of many mountains, belonging to the Alaskan Range:

Fairbanks was a 2 night stop at a beautiful Airbnb just outside of the city.  This stop was mainly to take care of the truck.  It was a stop at Ford for the usual maintenance stuff (Oil change, tire rotation, etc.) An interesting finding from the mechanic: our cab filter and engine air filter needed to be replaced.  The filter pictures the mechanic took, told the story.  They were filthy and one was damaged  due to heavy bumps on the Alcan.  The next day we continued to Denali for another 2 night stop.

Comments

  1. Replacing our filters cost us $700 here. Can’t imagine Alaskan prices!

  2. Gorgeous mountains! I wonder if the filters were also affected by some of the smoke and fire particles you guys have driven through since your trip again. And whether you notice any better performance now that you have clean filters. Glad you have some time off the road now to kick back. Enjoy, enjoy!
    Love you,
