Banff & Lake Louise, Alberta

Hi Everyone We have almost been here at the Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground at Village II for 7 days.  It is the only campground for large RVs and with full hook up.   Besides being very large campground, we have been suffering with weak cellular connection and only one (1) TV channel.  A CTV station coming from Calgary.  Great for local news and some US happenings.  As a result, we have been walking, biking, hiking and taking the transportation into town.  We had a great Chinese dinner at a local restaurant the other night.  It was great!   Yesterday we took transportation into town and picked up another bus for a 45 - 50 minute ride north of here to Lake Louise.   This one has a small fee of $5.00 per person.  Reservations were made online and "QR" codes provided for use when boarding bus.  The ride in its entirety is within the Banff Provincial Park system.  One has the option of stopping at eit...

Yellowstone Trip III

Hi Everyone On our last days in Yellowstone we visited "Old Faithfull".  As the name implies we were not disappointed.  It continues to impress and mesmerize everyone with its strength, beauty and sounds. We stopped at Firehole Canyon & River drive on our way back out of Yellowstone.  Beautiful narrow road next to the river to view the falls: On Saturday the 26th we left for Shelby, Montana.  The campground was nothing to talk about and suffice to say we will not return.  It was just a one night stop over so it serve its purpose. Since it was affiliated with the Best Western hotel next door, we were entitled to a complimentary hot breakfast! The following morning we left for the 35 mile ride to the Canadian border.  It appears that since our last trip into Canada either their laws have changed or the right questions were never asked.  We were in possession of a rifle that is permitted for protection against bears and other wildlife.  How...

Yellowstone Trip II

Hi Everyone It has been a few days since our last posting.  The trip from Kearney, NE to Cheyenne, WY was beautiful and entertaining.  We saw numerous Pronghorns, Mule Deer and even a couple of Elks. These were all near the road and kept us busy looking for more throughout the drive. The drive from  Cheyenne, WY to  Lander, WY was interesting.  We took US 287 off I80.  It was all "high desert" and full of Pronghorns.  We climbed to an altitude of 5600 ft. elevation.  Smoke was very light in the distance. We were surprised on our next stop; to see Lander, WY since we did not realize it was a big city.  We spent 3 days resting and enjoying the area. We visited Sinks Canyon State Park.  A short drive from our campground.  The canyon was created by receding glaciers a few million years ago.  The interesting thing here is the fact that water (Popo Agie River) created these sinks under the soft limestone.  Using dye to follow th...
