Radium Hot Springs, BC

We arrived at Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia this past Monday.  The trip from Banff was unreal and indescribable.  We immediately knew that it was going to be great when as soon as we left Tran-Canada highway 1 and on to Highway 93 to head South West to Radium and into Kootenay National Park, we encountered a Moose right on the edge of the road.

Later while still traveling southwest, we encountered a small heard of Mountain Goats.  Also near the road.

Our biggest surprise was the campground.  It is a private (not Provincial) park called Canyon RV Park.  As the name implies, it is at the bottom of a canyon with Sinclair Creek running through it.  It is a hidden gem .  The place is well manicured and beautifully kept.  Sites are well spaced and many with privacy hedges.

Yesterday, we went to Invermere, (about 20 minutes from here) a town that is well known for its golf courses.  Within the town is a beautiful lake, Lake Windemere.

Today, we went for a hike to Sinclair Falls.  It was a 2 1/4 miles hike.  The trail is through another side of the Canyon Park, that has park models (permanent mobile homes), and RV trailers, permanently situated.  Their properties are beautiful, maintained by the crew from this RV park.  (same owners).  The units are on the creek, with large decks and patios.  A couple of them were for sale, if anyone is interested!!

Today we went to Radium Hot Springs.  This is natural thermal water coming from underground springs.  A very nice facility with a beautiful hot springs pool.  The water is 102F.  We needed the  mineral soak after this morning's hike!

We will leave here on Monday, for Golden, BC.  Stay tuned!
