Rocky Mountain National Park
It was a beautiful ride to Estes Park, CO. We expected rain along the way, and sure enough, as we climbed into the mountains, rain it did! The temperature dropped as we ascended and the rain and thunder continued. Hauling our 5th wheel along winding, narrow roads, in those kind of conditions, is challenging!
Our campground was fantastic, nestled in the Rockies.
RMNP is the 7th National Park we have visited since our trip began in May!
There is now Timed Entry into the park. We needed to make the reservations for entry, in advance. Just $2. for the car.

We were so happy to return to Rocky Mountain NP, after not being there for 6 years. We had a volunteer gig there, and spent the summer.
Here are some pictures to show how beautiful the park is:

Notes on our accomodations throughout our truck adventure without the RV:
We stayed at some amazing places in Canada and Alaska. AND a few turkeys, but not many.
Our favorite place was Homer, AK. We stayed there for a week. It was a Bed and Dessert, instead of Bed and Breakfast. Each evening, the host delivered a special dessert for 2! We were very comfortable there, and enjoyed being close to Homer Spit! That was the place where Robert went on the fishing charter.
Our 2nd favorite, was Valdez, AK. We stayed there for a week as well. That was a Bed and breakfast. We were within walking distance to the Port of Valdez. We spent many hours by the water. AND on the water: Wildlife and Glacier Cruise.
The hotel in Seward was also noteworthy. It was an historic hotel with a classic look inside. This hotel was across the road from Resurrection Bay. We spent a lot of time watching the wildlife on the water: aquatic birds, otters and sea lions.
Turkeys: 2 hotels in Canada. 1 hotel in AK. One night stays, but never again.
This is our final blog, from our 2023 Summer Adventure! We have such good memories of this trip, and will talk about it for a long time! Thanks for reading about and enjoying this trip with us!
The scenery is a far cry from Missouri
